While I’m loving most of the features of the Ford Mondeo, I think the one feature I REALLY like is the Parking Aid.
It was a little strange driving the Mondeo at first because I was now driving a car with a bonnet. I’m used to driving a van that doesn’t have one so I had to pay more attention to make sure that I was allowing enough space for the extra length in front of me.
The Parking Aid came in handy because as I was trying to park, I got beeped at if I was getting too close at the front and beeped at if I was getting too close at the back. While I still had to use my own eyes, it was reassuring to know that I kinda had an extra pair of eyes.
Oh and I don’t think I’ve mentioned the Hill Assist feature yet.
Hill Assist makes it easier to pull away when you’re on a slope without using the hand brake. I was able to try it when I got stopped at a set of traffic lights on a steep hill. It keeps the car at a standstill, without any roll back, and gives me time to move my foot off the brake and onto the accelerator. It would be very helpful if you’re trying to reverse uphill into a parking spot.
What feature do you think is a must-have when looking to buy a new car?
My other Mondeo posts:
- Oh, so THIS is what it feels like to drive a Ford!
- Playing taxi and butt warmers!
- It’s so…gadgety!
- Your voice controls everything anyway, babe.
- So, it really IS keyless.
- I don’t want to say goodbye.
- I get to keep the Mondeo
- Having to say goodbye
Thanks to Kidspot, I have been chosen as one of the Modern Mondeo Mamas ! I get to drive this baby for 3 weeks and share what I think of it. *squeal*

That is handy! The first thing I'll be looking for in a new car is one with air vents in the back as well as the front. Most Def.

Definitely! No point in being cool in the front when the kids in the back are sweltering!
A good air conditioner is a MUST for me, since I live in the south, where we have summer seven months out of the year.
Yes! And one that cools VERY quickly!
We had a mondeo from '98 to 2001 – Loved it – Larger family now and so had to move away from it. The two new features sounds very handy…
