I saw this on Blooming Lovely, a fun little Christmas meme. If you do it as well, leave me the link to your post in the comments below. If you’re not a blogger, but still want to play along, feel free to leave your answers in the comments below as well
How we celebrate Christmas
- Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? I’ve never tried egg nog. Is that weird? I would choose hot chocolate. With the crazy weather we’ve been having lately, we might just end up drinking hot chocolate during the holiday season!
- Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Santa wraps all the gifts but the goodies in the stockings don’t get wrapped.
- Coloured lights on tree/house or white? We didn’t put the lights on the house this year. The last electricity bill nearly killed us! But when we do, they are coloured lights. But the lights on the Christmas tree are white.
- Do you hang mistletoe? Is Mistletoe even available in Australia? If it is, I want to get me some and stick it in my back pocket so people who don’t like me can kiss m….….
- When do you put your decorations up? I say that we start putting the Christmas decorations up on Dec 1 but we always end up doing it in the last week or so of November because I can’t wait anymore
- What is your favourite holiday dish? I don’t have a favourite dish but I do look forward to my brother-in-law’s sweet chilli BBQed prawns (Penny, *hint hint*)
- Favourite Holiday memory as a child? Going to my Babcia’s house and seeing all of my uncles, aunties and cousins. I remember it being so loud. Hehe.
- When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? What do you mean??!! Seriously though, I think I was about 8 and I got a new bike for Christmas. I remember my mum saying that if I didn’t look after it, she’d take it back to the shop. I was devastated!
- Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? We have a family Christmas Eve gift that we all open.
- How do you decorate your Christmas tree? I love the traditional red, green and gold colours for Christmas so our tree is decorated with baubles, stars, bells and other decorations in those colours.
- Snow! Love it or Dread it? I’m not sure if I love or dread snow but I would LOVE to experience a white Christmas just once!
- Can you ice skate? No but I can roller skate and roller blade. That’s the same, right?
- Do you remember your favourite gift? I remember getting a Barbie that tanned when you left her in the sun. But after Googling to find out if she was real and not finding anything, I’m wondering if I just made her up in my mind?!
- What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Being together as a family. Seeing the excitement in the kids’ faces when they open their gifts. And remembering the real reason for the Season.
- What is your favourite Holiday Dessert? I don’t mind a bit of trifle. Oh, and my sister made a kick-arse chocolate dessert last year that I hope she makes again but for the life of me, I can’t remember what it was called. I’ll get back to you.
- What is your favourite holiday tradition? I don’t think we have set traditions but we do have “our way” of doing the Christmas tree with the littlest kid putting the star on top when we’re finished. And we get in jammies and drive around looking for Christmas lights.
- What tops your tree? A gold, glittery star.
- Which do you prefer giving or receiving? I love giving gifts but I would be lying if I said I didn’t like to receive a gift.
- What is your favourite Christmas Song? “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”.
- Candy Canes: Yuck or Yum? Kinda yum, as long as they are the nice peppermint ones. I’ve bought cheapie ones that tasted like crap!
- Favourite Christmas Show? Don’t know about shows but my favourite movies are Joyeaux Noel, The Polar Express and Elf.
- Saddest Christmas Song? There’s a few Christmas
songs that make me tear up the the one that gets me every time is “Happy Christmas (War is over)”.

You know I am totally doing this one right?!
I'm glad you did this one
I love your answers.
I totally forgot about the movie Elf. I watched that on TV last night. I have to admit I must be so much like my boys. That scene where Buddy drinks the coke and belches for about 20 seconds gets me every time.
I know I'm late but I have joined in.
