Things I Know – the Christmas Card edition

by ~Tina on October 7, 2011

I know that I always have this idea that at the start of each year, I will work out how many people we send Christmas cards to each year, divide it by the number of weeks till Christmas and make that amount of cards each week so they will be done and ready to post by December 1.

Yeah, nah. Didn’t happen this year either. LAST year I don’t think I even got around to writing out and sending Christmas cards. I know! And I used to have this Christmas Organised Queen reputation. Not sure where that chick has gone!

But I can always dream. And if I DID make cards to send to our family friends, I would probably have gone with these fabulous ideas.

It’s the thought that counts, right?

I know that if we did this, I’d have to double up a couple of the kids, otherwise the photo of Annabelle would be tiny!

{source}

I know that even *I* could make this one! This is cute! Easy to make in photoshop and them get it printed at a photo lab and send as post cards!

{source}

Naww, penguin! I know that I couldn’t NOT add this card to this post! If I had the patience….and if I was crafty, I would SO make this!

{source}

I know I like this one! Handmade AND easy to do!

{source}

I know that this will probably be the quickest way to go, seeing as I don’t have time to hand make cards again this year. Now just to get that perfect family photo!

I also know that Kirsty has Christmas planning sorted!

Do you send out Christmas cards each year?

Do you make them, buy them or get them printed?

What do you know?

We totally do Christmas Cards! I have a couple of ideas for our Christmas photo this year, now to just go over to the inlaws place and take the photo! They have the best front garden to be able to do this years shoot! Last year I had an inside shoot, but I want to try an outside one this year! then I create it in photoshop and off to the printer it goes!!
Cant wait!! I picked up the boys matching shirts last night when I went to the shops, now to get the girls outfits organised and hubs and me and we will have the shoot!!
So excited!!!

I make my own card since I can do design and photography but I'm cutting back this year. Too expensive!

I don't make my own cards, because, I know I've got a really short attention span. I'll tend to purchase the stuff I need then NOT make them. So, I normally just purchase my cards. Not just any cards, nice ones of course. And I do love the ones from Phoenix trading (no I don't sell them), so I guess seeing Christmas is only 2 months away, I better get cracking and order some STAT!!

The challenge is on this year to do good ones for a swap I'm involved in ;)

I love to do my own Christmas Cards, but this year we are moving house 2 weeks before Christmas Cards so I think I might be doing well if I send out bought ones! I have made ones with photos the last few years and we always get feed back about how much everyone loves them…. there is always next year!

I love making my Christmas cards each year! I just blogged my ideas last week, but haven't narrowed it down any yet!

I'm really bad on this and only send out cards to those people who send them to me. And even then they're store bought cards. Yes, I know, bad, bad, bad! The biggest problem is when a card arrived on December 24th and I don't have time to send one back! :)

we do christmas cards. But They are usually a cheap card with a pic of the kids shoved in and my terrible handwritten greeting inside. Must try harder this year!

I have a terrible track record with cards and I’m determined to do better this year

Oh I love the idea for the first card!! Usually I post cards to very special friends overseas, and send e-cards to the rest :P

I do like to make my own Xmas cards and have gotten super organised this year and promised myself to keep it simple. I bought from Big W yesterday:
* a box of 50 plain white cards and matching envelopes
* a roll of nice xmas paper

I'm going to make a cardboard template of a skinny tall triangle – my Xmas tree, and cut out trees from the wrapping paper. Then I'll stick them onto the front of the cards. Simple.

If I get time I'll also include a cute Xmas photo of my daughter as well but only if time permits. Too busy baking… :-)

I'm shocking at sending cards out. I do write them, I just never quite get around to handing them out. Love the penguin!

kelley October 7, 2011 at 7:16 pm

every year I write them out.

And every year I find last years unsent.

This year I think I will just send an email.

Natalie October 7, 2011 at 11:46 pm

I send christmas cards! I've handmade some, i've done some graphic designed ones, and i've store bought them. I haven't quite decided what I'm doing this year, really should get a wriggle on making that decision if I want to make them!

The reindeer one is super cute!!

These are all very cute. I am hoping I get my bum into gear and have time to make at least a few to send to close family!
