My Memories / review *giveaway closed*

by ~Tina on January 16, 2012

I used to be a scrapbooker. Both paper and digital.

I stopped doing paper scrapbooking because I got sick of unpacking and packing up my supplies every time I wanted to create some layouts.

Then I took up digital scrapbooking which worked out well for me because there was no mess and it didn’t take up valuable storage space – unless we’re talking about the enormous amount of GBs my digital scrapbooking kits took up on my hard drive! I stopped doing that because it was getting so expensive to print out the layouts.

But since talking to other digital scrapbookers, I’ve been put on to places where I can get my layouts printed at a reasonable cost so THAT is why I decided to take up the offer of reviewing My Memories suite. That and the fact that this digital scrapbooking software allows you to create interactive scrapbooks.

My Memories is really easy to install and ready to use because it already comes loaded with digital scrapbook kits and page templates.

I thought I’d start with using just what was already installed in the software…

You have the choice of creating your pages and albums from scratch or using one of the beautiful scrapbook templates.

I chose one of the Christmas templates to try out and it’s really easy to pop your photos in, add some word art, embellishments and type in some journalling onto your pages. It even gives you a heads up where your pages could be trimmed when printing – which is awesome because I don’t know how many times I’ve printed out a layout only to find that some of my journalling has been cut off!

But what sets this digital scrapbook software apart from the rest, is that you can add music, narration and easily share your scrapbooks with friends and family.

“With My Memories Suite you simply don’t look at a scrapbook-you experience it!”

If you want a little more variety, you can browse through the pages of free digital scrapbook kits and templates or you can buy some of the gorgeous kits and templates available. There are new digital scrapbook kits being released regularly. Note to self – this could be dangerous!

I found it hard to hard to choose one….but in light of the baby girl boom in our extended family I couldn’t resist the it’s a girl frames. Vintage style and such pretty illustrations. I can imagine with templates, layouts and page designs such as these inspiration would be easy to find!

I love The Shack. I too gave up on paper scrapbooking and went to photobooks instead. But I would love to start digital scrapbooking, I could never find the right software.

The digital paper pack I have chosen is "To Hot To Handle". I love the bright colours and design!!! I would love to start this… I also have given up on paper scrapbooking. if I'm lucky enough to be chosen it would give me a kick start to organising all my precious photos.

Angel of Mine is beautiful. I like that it can be used regardless of the age of the angel you're scrapbooking for or about.

Tiiiiiinaaaaaaaaaa! Why do you do this to me?! Coz you know now what I want… no… NEED for my new digital scrapbooking habit, right?!

I like the 1 Year Older by Lindsay Jane. I've just started digital scrapping Darling's first year to display at her first birthday party (well, that's the plan), and this would be a great one to end it with!
