We’ve been redecorating our living room (sneak peek photo here) over the last few weeks and the wall that the low-line cabinet with the TV on top was against was bugging me because it was very bare.
I didn’t want to hang photos or prints or anything that would be too distracting, and when I came across wall stickers on eBay I decided that a big, pretty tree would look awesome on that wall – forgetting that those wall stickers can be the work of the devil and that it would come in small pieces and it is 100 times worse than working with Contact.
But it was pretty.
So, while the kids were all out and about, Bill and I got stuck into it, trying to recreate the sample photo, and not exactly accomplishing it, after some colourful words when the flowers wouldn’t come off the backing and air bubbles appeared when they were stuck on the wall.
But we got there. And I think it doesn’t look too bad. And makes a nice addition to our decor for only around $20! Oh, and I have plans for that space on the right now too.

It IS pretty! Can't wait to see what you have planned for the right side.
patience, my pretty!
You did well. Those things can be fiddly.
fiddly, definitely!
I love it! You have made me start thinking about some empty walls I have. Rachel xx

be sure to share when you do it!
That looks fantastic Tina!! Decorating around a low lying tv cabinet is difficult, and those wall decals are perfect for that space…and pretty! I hear you about the bubbles and annoyance…you should have seen the hell I went through trying to get those trees on my lounge room wall.

Thanks Lis. Your trees were part of my inspiration
I think it looks great! I had no idea those things were so fiddly. I have been thinking about getting one for quite a while, will have to take this into consideration!
I think if you take your time and try not to lose your temper *ahem* then it's all good
That IS pretty! Love the fact that it's not permanent and quick and easy to apply too! I've been wanting to decorate my "sewing"/"stock"/"mummy" room for ages using wall decals, but still have not done it. Yes, slack I know. So, I might get cracking on it soon.

Not being permanent is a good thing because I am known for rearranging furniture often!
I think it looks great!
I'd love to get rid of our massive entertainment unit. It's HUGE and heavy and sooooo out of date–it used to be my mothers.

We've gone through a few, going from the big ass entertainment units to the more sleek designs. I'm loving my new low-line one
But what happenes when you move the TV next week? :p
Haha! I KNEW someone was going to bring that up
I'm thinking that these might just encourage me to find another hobby. hehe
I bought a whole bunch of these stickers for the boys' room and bathroom and they look awesome.
I might have to do a post on them.
I still have some to put up in my bedroom, but of course, I come last
Love your flowers

Our bedroom will probably be the last to be redecorated as well. Even though it REALLY needs to be done!
I have just discovered wall decals too. The kids rooms have been spruced up for only $12 each! They're perfect because when you get sick of them, they can just be replaced. Only problem I had was balancing with the spirit level trying to get the things straight lol

Ah yes, that's why I tend to stay away from decals that need to be straight!
ooooohhhhh….that does look pretty!
You did a great job. It looks so effective.
Thanks Melissa. Simple and cheap!
