iPhoneology

Keep reading to find how can you win score yourself one of 3 $20 iTunes vouchers!

Hi, I’m Tina. I love walks along the beach, kittens and puppies and downloading iPhone apps just to play with them.

Some of them become part of my daily life that I can. not. live without and others become part of my daily life because they’re fun and one day will turn me into an amazing artist. Shut up. It will.

So I thought I would share with you five apps (but not the obvious ones) that I have been playing with lately…

lazy unfollow appone… Lazy Unfollow (free) – This is a pretty cool app.

You sign into your twitter account, and it tells you who has unfollowed you and/or followed you recently.

So it’s easy to follow/unfollow them in return. I usually follow back most people who follow me, as long as they have a profile photo and seem real and not spammy.

On the occasion that I feel like I need to cull who I follow because it gets too much, I load this app.

4 ingredients app

two… 4 Ingredients ($2.99) – You know the days when you look in the pantry and see food in there but you still think there’s nothing in there to eat? This is where the 4 Ingredients app comes in handy. You can select the recipe builder, enter up to four ingredients you have on hand, and let the app find some matching recipes. You do need to purchase the other “recipe books” at $2.99ea to have access to ALL the recipes though. I love that it easily adds the ingredients you need from the recipes to the shopping list, and you can even email the shopping list to your husband so he can do the shopping for you.

target weight appthree… Target Weight (free) – I’ve mentioned before that I like numbers.

Seeing numbers go down keeps me motivated. So I use this app, as well as updating my blog each week when I weigh in.

When I started, I entered my height, starting weight and goal weight, and the app worked out my BMI for me.

It shows me a graph, which I am thrilled to see continually heading in a downwards motion!

And I was able to set a target date to reach my goal weight.

four… Real Estate View (free) – Every so often, I get into this frame of mind that I want to move. Far away from where we are. So when I was told about this app, I downloaded it to have a play because it’s like house hunting without having to get out of your pjs.

real estate view app

Real  Estate View have thought of everything here. This app lets you search and view rental (or to buy) homes across Australia. It can help you, once you have shortlisted the homes you want to look at, by automatically organising your inspection and/or auction times. You can also email or call the property manager directly from the app.

I remember years ago, buying the newspaper every Saturday and circling the houses for rent that we were interested in and then trying to make times to go check them out. This makes it SO much easier for people these days!

My Stockland appfive… My Stockland (free) – I don’t usually download shopping apps. But the Stockland near us (Shellharbour, for those playing at home) has been getting a major overhaul and has just opened up Stage 1 with brand new stores.

We walked in there and I totally lost my bearings and didn’t recognise the old bit! So before we moved any further, I quickly downloaded the app, which shows you a map of the entire complex, browse by store, shopping list feature and news about the complex, and we were able to quickly find Bras N Things and Max Brenner.

You know, the important things.

I have 3 x $20 iTunes vouchers to give away!

To get your hot little hands on one of them, all you have to do is tell me what you like best about the Real Estate View app that I mentioned up there ^^

Boring bits: Giveaway open to Australian residents only. Finishes 18 May 2012. Winners will be chosen by the judging panel, i.e. whichever of the Gray kids I can wrangle into helping me pick the winners.

This post is brought to you in collaboration with Real Estate View, as per my disclosure.

iphoneology/ can you draw something?

by ~Tina on March 12, 2012

draw something

Draw Something, a new app that is compatible for iPhone and Android which is awesome has everyone talking. Think Pictionary meets Words With Friends.

You COULD be mistaken in thinking that one of my younger children had drawn these images.

You WOULD be wrong.

I can’t draw for shit.

I can imagine my opponents saying “what the hell is that meant to be?!” and “OMG, how is THAT an elbow?!”

But I’m having fun playing anyway.

Until I started playing against a random player who could actually draw. REALLY well. Her person that she drew had facial features and finger nails and a detailed t-shirt.

And it made me think of the horse and stable that I tried to draw in my first turn.

I might just stick with playing against my friends.

I’ve discovered many of them can’t draw to save themselves either. Heh.

Verse me? I’m Tina. G on there.

wordless wednesday/ the beach at sunset

February 22, 2012

Port Kembla beach | 18 February 2012 Bill and I took the littlest girls for a walk along the beach at sunset. The colours in the sky were amazing. How pretty does it look? I’m planning to get the second image printed in poster size to hang on my wall. Linking up to: My Little [...]

February 15, 2012

11 Feb 2012 | Cordeaux Dam I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to test drive a Mitsubishi ASX for a week (stay tuned for a blog post about that!) so Bill and I went on a mini road trip with Giorgia and Annabelle to Cordeaux Dam, about 1/2 hour from home. [...]

wordless wednesday/ lake illawarra

January 25, 2012

Lake Illawarra | JAN 2012 Some days the lake smells and looks grey and gloomy, and on other days, it’s just divine. One of my favourite things to do is go for a walk along the lake at sunset. That’s when it looks the prettiest. Linking up to: My Little Drummer Boys, Wordless Wednesday, Angry Julie Monday, Project [...]
