{in Bill’s kitchen} Meal Planning Monday

by ~Tina · 10 comments

So last week I mentioned that we were participating in the Omega 3 heart Challenge and I am failing at it, miserably.

You can find more information about the Omega 3 Heart Challenge on the Nature’s Own facebook page. The idea of the challenge is to try and get your kids to eat fish three times a week.

I am lucky if I can get them to eat it once. The tuna patties (recipe shared in last week’s meal planning monday post) are the only success story I can share with you right now. But I haven’t given up yet. If they will eat tuna, then tuna is what they’ll get.

meal planning

Monday – Prawn salad {see below}

Tuesday – Spaghetti and meatballs

Wednesday – Home-made hamburgers and chips

Thursday- Tuna flan and salad

Friday – Chicken schnitty and salad

Saturday – Home-made fish and chips

Sunday – Vegie frittata and salad

prawn salad

Prawn Salad

You’ll need:

  • cooked prawns
  • lettuce
  • tomatoes
  • spanish onions
  • ricotta
  • salad dressing
  • seafood sauce

The hardest part of putting this meal together is not eating the prawns as we’re peeling them. Or is that just me? ;)

What’s for dinner at your place this week?

I wish it was easy to get mine to eat fish. But they’re normally ok with everything else. Normally.

I actually did make those tuna patties. The kids LOVED them but Mr. C said he was forced to eat them – WHATEVER! The prawn salad looks yummy Tina, but would love to get the recipe for tuna flan if you’ve got it. :)
